**EXCLUSIVE: Teddy Biaselli Promoted to VP, Scripted Series at Netflix**
Netflix has promoted Teddy Biaselli, an 11-year veteran of the streaming giant, to the newly created role of Vice President, Scripted Series. This move is part of Netflix’s strategic push to focus on more IP and franchise-driven content.
In his new position, Biaselli will report to Michael Azzolino, Vice President of Drama Series Development. He will be responsible for shepherding the slate of current series while developing new shows based on pre-existing intellectual property, including hits like *Wednesday* and *Scooby-Doo*. Additionally, he will oversee projects based on original premises that have the potential to create new global IP, such as *Stranger Things*. Biaselli’s ultimate goal is to build tentpole franchises that resonate with global audiences.
The role expands on Biaselli’s previous work as Director, Original Series at Netflix, where he assembled a Four Quadrant/IP Franchise series slate. In that capacity, he oversaw the development and production of several global hits including *Wednesday*, *One Piece*, *Avatar: The Last Airbender*, *The Umbrella Academy*, *Sweet Tooth*, and the upcoming live-action *Scooby-Doo* series.
Biaselli originally joined Netflix in 2014 as part of the family programming team. During his tenure, he supervised the development of popular titles such as *Fuller House*, *Lost in Space*, *A Series of Unfortunate Events*, and the Emmy-winning *Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance*. He also played a pivotal role in bringing the popular series *Cobra Kai* to Netflix after it was initially set up at YouTube.
Prior to his career at Netflix, Biaselli worked as a development executive at Hasbro/Discovery’s cable network The Hub and at Disney Channel.
With this promotion, Netflix continues to strengthen its focus on franchise-driven storytelling, leveraging Biaselli’s extensive experience to build and expand its scripted series slate worldwide.
