**Russia’s Much-Hyped Humanoid Robot Face-Plants Onstage During Debut**

A humanoid robot’s highly anticipated debut quickly went awry during a technology showcase in Moscow on Tuesday. Backed by the iconic theme song of *“Rocky,”* the robot waddled onto the stage accompanied by two people, before an eager audience of journalists ready to witness what the developers touted as “Russia’s first anthropomorphic robot with artificial intelligence.”
However, the moment took an unexpectedly comical turn. As the robot attempted to wave its right hand, it struggled to maintain balance and ultimately stumbled, falling flat on its face in a scene reminiscent of the end of a messy night out.
The two men accompanying the robot hurriedly dragged it offstage, while other staff members quickly tried to draw a black curtain across the stage to cover up the mishap.
Despite the embarrassing debut, the event highlights ongoing efforts in robotics innovation within Russia. Developers are optimistic about refining the robot’s performance in future demonstrations.
