**Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation Launches Cleanliness Campaign Under Swachhta Hi Seva Abhiyan**
The Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has initiated a comprehensive cleanliness campaign under the Swachhta Hi Seva Abhiyan across the KDMC region. The campaign’s theme is “My Waste, My Responsibility” (Majha Kachara, Majhi Jawabdari), emphasizing the importance of individual accountability in maintaining cleanliness.
**Duration and Coverage**
According to KDMC officials, the campaign is scheduled to run from September 17 to October 2, 2025. The drive was actively carried out from Chakki Naka to Bikaner Bakery (Malang Road) in Ward D, covering significant public spaces within the region.
**Focus Areas**
During this period, the Sanitation Department concentrated its efforts on cleaning roads and footpaths, planting trees, and ensuring the proper collection and disposal of waste. Employees worked diligently to promote a cleaner and healthier environment for all residents.
**Awareness Activities**
To further encourage citizen participation, a street play based on the theme “My Garbage, My Responsibility” was performed. This initiative aimed to raise awareness among the public about their role in waste management. Residents were urged to hand over their garbage daily to municipal collection trucks. Shopkeepers were asked to place bins within their premises, and everyone was requested to refrain from littering in public spaces.
**Cleanliness as a Social Commitment**
The Municipal Corporation highlighted that cleanliness goes beyond an administrative duty; it is a social commitment shared by all citizens. Officials expressed confidence that this campaign would foster a cleaner, healthier, and more beautiful Kalyan-Dombivli through increased community involvement.

The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from various members of the community including MLA Sulabatai Ganpat Gaikwad, Deputy Commissioner of Solid Waste Management Prasad Borkar, Chief Sanitation Officer Augustine Ghute, Sanitation Officer Vikram Gaikwad, Rachna Park Senior Citizens’ Association president Manohar Desai, senior citizens, students of Chetna School, members of Sumit Elco’s IEC team, municipal officers, and employees.
