LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (KGO) — Officials are issuing a warning after a bear broke into a Lake Tahoe home and scratched a couple. “There was a bear in the garage we have two patients that were clawed at,” a woman can be heard in the Broadcastify audio. This happened in Kingsbury, not far from stateline and Heavenly Mountain Resort. Wildlife officials say the elderly homeowner encountered the bear searching for food in the garage around 4: 30 a. m. It later scratched a woman in the house, before eventually leaving the house on its own. Their injuries are minor. Wildlife officials are reminding those living in bear country to keep food and garbage away, and shut doors and windows to prevent similar situations.
