MANILA, Philippines – Financial education gaps, economic stress, and “face-saving” cultural norms have led many Filipinos to misrepresent their finances.
According to a study, these factors have made the Philippines the most dishonest country in Southeast Asia when it comes to money.
The findings were revealed by ROSHI, a Singapore-based fintech firm, in its Financial Honesty Study: Southeast Asia report. The study highlights the challenges faced by Filipinos in maintaining financial transparency amid various pressures.
