**Small Plane Crash-Lands on I-95 in Brevard County, Striking a Car**
BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (WESH) – A small plane crash-landed on Interstate 95 in Brevard County on Monday, striking a car in the process. Eyewitnesses traveling on the highway shared their accounts of the dramatic event.
Annie Wigley was driving with her husband and daughter when they witnessed the plane make the emergency landing. “For a minute, the traffic slowed down, and we could run across the street to see if anybody was injured,” Wigley said.
Both Annie Wigley and her daughter are nurses. They rushed to check on the woman inside the partially crushed car struck by the plane. “It was awful. I absolutely expected to see someone that was either bleeding or possibly even dead,” Wigley recalled.
Though they had difficulty opening the car door, once it was open, they found that the woman appeared to be okay—just dazed and shaken. Brevard County Fire Rescue confirmed that the driver, a 57-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Pastor Bernard Wigley, who was also at the scene, commented on the severity of the damage. “The car was totaled except the driver’s seat. That was the only part. I mean, the car was crushed,” he said, emphasizing how fortunate the woman was to survive unharmed.
Fire Rescue officials reported that the plane’s 27-year-old pilot and their passenger escaped without injury. In a video shared after the crash, Pastor Wigley can be heard saying, “Everybody is fine. Even the pilot for the plane is still sitting in the pilot seat.”
Annie Wigley expressed her gratitude, saying, “I give God all the credit and thanks because he preserved life that day, and it was a miracle. It was truly a miracle.”
Authorities stated that the pilot was attempting to make an emergency landing on the highway following an engine failure.
