This 2006 Bugatti Veyron is the 41st of 252 coupes produced in the model’s original configuration between 2005 and 2011 and is the 12th of just 76 built for delivery to the US. Finished in striking white with blue fenders, doors, and coves over beige and blue leather upholstery, this exceptional Veyron is powered by a quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine.
**Specifications and Features**
The powertrain incorporates adaptive boost-pressure fuel injection, dry-sump lubrication for both the engine and gearbox, and an advanced cooling system comprising 10 radiators. The braking system features carbon-ceramic discs with titanium calipers—15.7-inch discs with eight-piston, four-pad calipers up front and 15-inch discs with six-piston, two-pad calipers at the rear.
This example rides on aftermarket wheels measuring 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires sized 265/35 front and 345/30 rear, displaying 2021 and 2022 date codes.
**Exterior and Aerodynamics**
Construction includes a carbon-fiber monocoque passenger cell, an aluminum front frame, and a rear structure combining carbon fiber, aerospace-grade stainless steel, and aluminum. The aluminum and carbon-fiber body panels are accented by exposed aluminum rear intake snorkels and a titanium “horseshoe” grille.
Adaptive aerodynamics enhance performance with variable ride height, front diffuser flaps, a rear diffuser, and an active rear wing that doubles as an airbrake, automatically tilting to a 55° angle for high-speed braking. The underside of the rear wing proudly displays the colors of the French flag.
Notably, the left rocker panel sustained a split, professionally repaired in January 2022 by Pacific Match Paint in Laguna Hills, California, along with curb scuff repairs on the front spoiler.
**Interior Details**
Inside, the cockpit features carbon-fiber-shelled bucket seats trimmed in tan leather with blue accents, extending to the door panels and center console. The dashboard is wrapped in blue leather, complemented by tan Alcantara on the A-pillars, headliner, and rear bulkhead. Bugatti-branded tan and blue floor mats protect the tan carpets.
A single-piece machine-turned aluminum panel on the dash and center console houses the gearshift, a clock, and controls for the automatic climate system and premium Burmester sound system. Unique to this Veyron is a key slot on the driver’s sill allowing the insertion of a separate key to enable “top speed” capability.
The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames magnesium paddle shifters and instrumentation featuring a central 8,000 rpm tachometer with an inset digital display, flanked by a 280 mph speedometer and a horsepower gauge. The digital odometer reads 20,000 miles.
**Engine and Performance**
The Volkswagen-designed 8.0-liter W16 engine utilizes a single crankshaft shared by two banks of eight cylinders arranged at a 90° angle, each bank with cylinders set in a compact 15° V-configuration. Each cylinder head incorporates dual overhead camshafts operating four valves per cylinder.
Forced induction comes from four turbochargers, pushing air through two intercoolers into twin intake manifolds. Adaptive fuel injection continuously adjusts fuel pressure relative to boost levels. Factory-rated power output stands at 987 horsepower and 922 lb-ft of torque.
Both the engine and gearbox use dry-sump lubrication, each with individual oil coolers. Additionally, eight other heat exchangers manage coolant for the engine, intercoolers, rear differential, and air conditioning.
**Service History and Provenance**
A December 2021 service at Bugatti Newport Beach included new tires, an annual service, and fresh fluids. In January 2022, repairs were completed on the left rocker panel and front spoiler. Previously owned by Manny Khoshbin, this Veyron was listed on Bring a Trailer (BaT) in February 2022.
This Veyron 16.4 was recently acquired by the selling dealer and is now offered in California with an Oklahoma title. A plaque under the front hood identifies the car as chassis number 41 and notes its initial delivery to the US.
The Carfax report confirms no accidents or damage, with a mileage inconsistency recorded in December 2021.
**Historical Context**
Development of the Veyron commenced after Volkswagen acquired the Bugatti brand in 1998. Volkswagen introduced multiple W-engined, all-wheel-drive concept cars, culminating in the 2000 Veyron concept named in honor of race driver and engineer Pierre Veyron who won the 1939 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Bugatti Type 57C.
Assembly of the production Veyron started in Molsheim in September 2005 after the car set a production-car top speed record of 253 mph during testing.
