Popular reality show **Bigg Boss 19**, hosted by Salman Khan, is reportedly embroiled in a legal dispute concerning the unauthorized use of two songs in its Episode 11.
### Copyright Infringement Allegations
Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL), India’s oldest licensing organization, has sent a legal notice to the producers of Bigg Boss 19, accusing them of copyright infringement. The notice alleges that the show used the songs **“Chikni Chameli”** from *Agneepath* and **“Dhat Tere Ki”** from *Gori Tere Pyaar Mein* without securing the necessary permissions.
### Financial Demands and Legal Notice
PPL has demanded damages and license fees amounting to **Rs 2 crore** from the makers of Bigg Boss 19 for the alleged unauthorized use. The notice, served by advocate Hiten Ajay Wasan on September 19, specifically names **Endemol Shine India**, the production company behind the show, for using the sound recordings without obtaining a public performance license.
According to a source from PPL’s legal team, both songs are licensed to **Sony Music Entertainment India**, one of more than 450 music labels whose public performance rights are managed by PPL.
### Cease and Desist Notice Issued
In addition to the financial demands, PPL has issued a cease and desist notice to the makers of Bigg Boss 19, urging them to immediately stop using the recordings without authorization. The organization points out that Endemol Shine India failed to obtain the required license under Section 30 of the Copyright Act, 1957, which is considered “willful infringement.”
### Show Continues to Air Despite Legal Issues
Despite these ongoing legal challenges, Bigg Boss 19 continues to air on **Colors TV** at 10:30 PM and streams on **JioHotstar** at 9:00 PM as per the usual schedule.
