The Executive Committee of the Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organization (WRWWO), under the leadership of Neena Gupta, President of WRWWO, organized two engaging competitions for the children of railway staff at the WR Headquarters Office. The Essay Competition was held on 14th September 2025, followed by the Drawing & Painting Competition on 21st September 2025. Both events took place at Godbole Hall, Churchgate, Mumbai.
More than 150 children participated enthusiastically in these competitions, showcasing their creativity and spirit. According to a press release issued by Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, these competitions were simultaneously conducted across all divisions of Western Railway, including the Headquarters, ensuring widespread participation.
The competition topics were uniform across all divisions and carefully designed according to age groups to maintain a consistent theme:
**Essay Competition Topics:**
– *Age Group 6 – 9 years:* “My Favorite Dish” or “A Fun Day at My Grandparents’ House”
– *Age Group 10 – 12 years:* “How I Spend My Sundays” or “My Favorite Indian Festival”
– *Age Group 13 – 15 years:* “Is AI Going to Be a Threat or Benefit for the Future?” or “My Vision of India in 2047”
**Drawing & Painting Competition Topics:**
– *Age Group 6 – 9 years:* “Family Outing” or “My Favorite Animal”
– *Age Group 10 – 12 years:* “My Superhero” or “Spaceship or Astronaut”
– *Age Group 13 – 15 years:* “Festival of Your Choice (Celebration)” or “Scene of a Forest with Animals”
The response to the competitions was overwhelming, with children from all divisions attending in large numbers and demonstrating remarkable creativity and imagination.
President Neena Gupta, along with other Executive Members, lauded all the participants for their enthusiastic involvement and artistic talents. As a token of appreciation, every child received participation gifts presented by the President of WRWWO.
The winners at the zonal level will be grouped together, and selected participants will advance to become national-level winners, competing among children from all over Indian Railways.
These competitions not only provided a platform for young talent to shine but also fostered a sense of community and engagement within the railway family.
